Reducing Overwhelm

So my video this week is about being in the moment, but while editing it I’ve gotten very side-tracked by my perfectionism…oh the irony!

I have been very out of the habit of going out locally to take photos. And the longer it is the harder I’ve found it to get out. So I thought what better topic for the video, because surely I’m not the only person this happens to…I mean I’m not, am I?

When I woke up I was pretty sure the weather wasn’t going to be what I’d like photographically – it was too warm for mist and I could see clouds covering the sky. I was so tempted to just go back to bed, but I’m so glad I didn’t because time in nature with my camera was just what I needed.

Mind you, the day didn’t start that well. For the second time in a row I’ve pulled my camera out of my bag to find the battery flat, despite fully charging it the day before, and checking it before going to bed. The first time this happened my camera was actually on, so I thought that must be the problem (though I have it set to go off after 5 mins). Not so this time.

I have no idea what’s going on, because both before and after I’ve left the battery in the camera and haven’t had any issues with it discharging: it’s only been when I’ve actually gone out shooting. Thankfully I always carry a spare with me, but it is perplexing!

The Day

If you’ve been feeling at all like me and have been having trouble actually getting out to shoot, let this be your message from the Universe telling you now is the time!
